Abstract Od svoje najranije dobi dijete se odgaja i obrazuje. Kako bi napredovalo tijekom formalnog obrazovanja, u predškolskom se periodu trebaju postaviti temelji za daljnju uspješnost i zrelost. Procesom ranog opismenjavanja dijete razvija i usavršava slušanje i govorenje te usvaja temeljne predvještine za početno učenje čitanja i pisanja. U teorijskom se okviru navode značajke temeljnih jezičnih djelatnosti slušanja, govorenja, čitanja i pisanja, definiraju temeljne jezične predvještine i opisuju njezine glavne sastavnice, tj. preduvjeti (fonološka osvještenost, motivacija, primjena abecednog načela, grafomotorika i globalno čitanje), iznosi se važnost roditelja i odgojitelja te se određuju metodički postupci odgojitelja koji pridonose razvoju predvještina čitanja i pisanja. U metodičke postupke odgojitelja ubrajaju se svi načini obavljanja radnji i aktivnosti, komunikacija i ponašanja odgojitelja i djece, partnerstvo s roditeljima, motiviranost za vlastito profesionalno usavršavanje te postizanje definiranih ishoda. Stvaranjem poticajne okoline u skladu s dječjim individualnim karakteristikama, odgojitelj pridonosi razvoju predvještina čitanja i pisanja. U istraživačkom se dijelu prikazuje kvalitativno istraživanje provedeno metodom intervjua. Ispitanice (N=6) su bile odgojiteljice iz dviju predškolskih ustanova u Zagrebu. Cilj istraživanja je dobiti uvid u metodičke postupke odgojitelja koji pridonose razvoju predvještina čitanja i pisanja. Odgovori ispitanika analizirani su i kategorizirani prema postavljenim istraživačkim pitanjima. Ključni je zaključak da su odgojiteljevi metodički postupci, koji doprinose razvoju predvještina čitanja i pisanja, usmjereni prema individualnim karakteristikama svakog djeteta i njegovoj motivaciji za daljnje učenje.
Abstract (english) Since the earliest age, every child is learning through care and education. In order to make progressin formal school education, the basis of future success and maturityneeds to be set up in the preschool period. With the process of becoming literate in an early age, a child develops and improves his or her listening and speaking abilities and acquires basic pre-skills for initial learning of reading and writing. The main characteristics of language activities such as listening, speaking, reading and writing, the definition of language pre-skills and its main components(phonological awareness, motivation, the use of alphabetically principle, graphomotor skills and global reading), the role of parents and preschool teachers, and the determination of methodical procedures of preschool teachers that contribute to the development of reading and writing pre-skills are mentioned inthe theoretical framework. Preschool teachers'ways of performinglanguage activities, their communication and behavior towards children, partnership with parents, motivation for own professional development and achieving of defined learning outcomes are included in methodical procedures of preschool teachers. Creating a stimulative environment in harmony with children's individual characteristics, a preschool teacher contributes to the development of reading and writingpre-skills. The second part of this paper examines the results of a conducted qualitative research by the method of interview. Examinees were six preschool teachers from two kindergartens in Zagreb. The aim of this research is to provide the insight into methodical procedures of preschool teachers that contribute to the development of reading and writing pre-skills. Examinees' answers were analysed and categorized according to set of research questions. The main conclusion is that preschool teacher's methodical procedures that contribute to the development of reading and writing pre-skills are focused on individual characteristics of every child and his or her motivation for further education.
