Abstract

Platon kao izuzetan predstavnik grčke filozofske misli u svojim je djelima Država i Zakoni razradio koncept idealne države. Taj koncept države njegov je odgovor na političke okolnosti u tadašnjim grčkim polisima, gradovima-državama. Cjelokupna država temeljena je na njegovu nauku o idejama prema kojemu se zasnivaju smjernice za oblikovanje državnoga uređenja. Pravednost je vrlina prema kojoj se uređuje sveukupni život građana u polisu. Odgoj je važan čimbenik društva kojim se omogućuje društvena podjela na staleže u kojima pojedinci, prema vlastitim sposobnostima, svojim radom pridonose općoj dobrobiti društva u cjelini i zadovoljavanju svojih potreba u zajednici. Razvidna je potreba za podjelom rada u zajednici, jer tako svatko radi ono za što je najsposobniji, čime ostvaruje svoju pripadnost zajednici i ostvarivanju njezine dobrobiti. Svrha je države da omogućuje najbolje ostvarivanje općega dobra, kako zajednice u cjelini tako i svakog pojedinca u njoj. U Platona se polako razvijala filozofska misao o idealnoj državi, u mnogim raspravama sa suvremenim misliteljima, svojim učenicima i prijateljima, promatrajući složene društvene odnose svoga vremena, mijenjao je svoj pristup pojedincu i državi. Opće dobro pojedinca i države proteže se u njegovim djelima poput crvene niti i daje jasan uvid u njegov misaoni put. U svojim ga je djelima različito promišljao, ovisno o tome kako je u kojem času gledao na ulogu pojedinca u društvu. Tako je od prvotne zamisli da pojedinac vlastitu dobrobit treba ostvariti u službi države, preko izjednačavanja i poistovjećivanja dobrobiti pojedinca i države, došao do pojedinca kojeg se putem državnih zakona podlaže društvu kako bi se ostvarila dobrobit države u cjelini.

Abstract (english)

Plato, as an outstanding representative of Greek philosophical thought, in his works Republic and Laws elaborated the concept of an ideal state. The concept of the state of Plato is a response to political circumstances in the Greek city-states. The entire state is based on Plato's doctrine of ideas, under which the guidelines of government are based. Justice is the virtue by which the life of the citizens of the state is governed.Nurtre is an important factor in the society from which social division in classes arises, in which individuals, by ability, actively participate in their own work and contribute to the social well-being. The need for division of labour, because everyone is doing what he or she is most capable of, thus realizes the individual's commitment to ultimately acting for the common good of the state, or of the community. During the development of philosophical thought about the ideal state, Plato also changed his own approach to the individual and the state through dialogue. The common good of the individual and the state is present from the beginning to the end of his developmental path. He portrayed him in different ways, depending on how he looks at the individual. Thus, from his original idea that an individual had to achieve his own well-being in the function of the state, through equalizing and identifying the well-being of the individual and the state, it came to an individual who, through the law, subjugates society in order to achieve the well-being of the state.
