Abstract

Nakon što donesu odluku o karijeri, adolescenti se upisuju na željeni fakultet. Motivacija za studij može biti raznolika, a najčešće su u pitanju ili intrinzična motivacija ili ekstrinzična motivacija za postignućem. Na motivaciju u velikoj mjeri utječu emocije koje se javljaju usred doživljavanja uspjeha ili neuspjeha prilikom obavljanja određene akcije. Kad govorimo o studiju Ranog i predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja, važno je poznavati povijesni pregled kako bismo uvidjeli razlike i razloge zbog kojeg danas postoji petogodišnje obrazovanje odgojitelja. Od davnina je briga za djecu prepuštana ženama i majkama, a i danas je zastupljen veći broj žena u tom zanimanju. Od zabavnišnih učiteljica koje su djelovale u sklopu dječjih zabavišta, preko zabavilja, skrbnica i odgojitelja dolazimo do prvostupnika i magistra Ranog i predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja. U istraživanju provedenom među 170 studenata preddiplomskog i diplomskog studija Ranog i predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja na Učiteljskom fakultetu u Zagrebu vidljivo je da je omjer žena i muškaraca na studiju 164:6. Većina ispitanika upisala je navedeni studij zbog iskustva koje su imali u radu s djecom zbog čega su zaključili da se time žele baviti. Također, većini njih roditelji su dali podršku u odabiru studija i većini je Rani i predškolski odgoj i obrazovanje bio prvi izbor među ponuđenim studijima. Istraživanje pokazuje da je većina ispitanika zadovoljna dosadašnjim obrazovanjem na Učiteljskom fakultetu te da kolegiji nude znanja koja će im u praksi koristiti, ali i da bi se količina prakse tijekom studija mogla povećati. Zanimljivo je da većini studenata kolege i prijatelji daju veću motivaciju za studij nego što to čine profesori. Najveći broj ispitanika s diplomskog studija tvrdi da je glavna motivacija za nastavak obrazovanja bilo dodatno znanje, no već drugo mjesto zauzima uloga novca, odnosno veća plaća odgojiteljima magistrima.

Abstract (english)

After making a career decision, adolescents enrol on the desired faculty. Motivation for study can vary. It can be either intrinsic motivation or extrinsic motivation for achievement. Motivation is largely affected by emotions that arise in the midst of experiencing success or failure while performing a particular action. When it comes to the undergraduate university study programme Early Childhood and Preschool Education, it is important to know the historical review to understand the differences and the reasons why there is a five-year study for preschool teachers. Since ancient times, caring for children has been left to women and mothers. Even today there are more women in this profession. From preschool teachers who worked as a part of kindergartens, to entertainers, caretakers and educators, we come to bachelors and masters in Early Childhood and Preschool Education. The study was conducted among 170 students of undergraduate and graduate study programme Early Childhood and Preschool Education at the Faculty of Teacher Education in Zagreb. It shows that the ratio of women and men is 164:6. The majority of the respondents chose the aforementioned study because of their experience in working with children, which made them want to do it for a living. In addition, most of them were supported by their parents and most of them put Early Childhood and Preschool Education as their first choice among the offered studies. The study shows that the majority of the respondents are satisfied with their education at the Faculty of Teacher Education. They also think that courses offer them knowledge that will be useful in practice. However, they think that the amount of practice during the study may increase. Interestingly, the majority of students are motivated more by their colleagues and friends than their professors. The largest number of graduate students argues that the main motivation for further education is additional knowledge, but the second place is occupied by the role of money, i.e. higher wages for masters of preschool education.
