Abstract

Autistični poremećaj, kojeg je prvi opisao Leo Kanner, razvojni je poremećaj
koji se manifestira prije treće godine djetetova života te ga obilježavaju teškoće u
socijalnoj komunikaciji i socijalnoj interakciji, ograničene aktivnosti i interesi te
stereotipija. Svako dijete s autizmom je jedinstveno te pojedina djeca pokazuju
iznimne sposobnosti za određeno područje (glazba, matematika, likovni...), ali kod
dijagnosticiranja postoje navedene zajedničke karakteristike. Unazad nekoliko godina
bilježi se značajan porast prevalencije poremećaja iz autističnog spektra, a istraživanja
pokazuju da ona iznosi 1:100.
Ukoliko se dovoljno rano djetetu s poremećajem iz spektra autizma pruži
dosljedna, sveobuhvatna i intenzivna intervencija koja uključuje primjenu terapijskih
programa u obliku individualnog rada s djetetom moguće je ostvariti dovoljnu razinu
samostalnosti te socijalne i komunikacijske kompetencije. Neki od tih terapijskih
programa opisani su u ovom radu: FloorTime, Son-Rise i ABA.
Takvi programi pomažu djeci s autizmom povećati kvalitetu života, postići što
bolju integraciju u školi te daljnje formalno obrazovanje. U svemu tome važan je i
potreban stručan rad te uključenost roditelja, odgajatelja, učitelja i terapeuta. Opisani
programi pomažu, kako djeci s poremećajem iz spektra autizma, tako i njihovim
obiteljima.

Abstract (english)

Autistic disorder, first described by Leo Kanner, is a developmental disorder
that manifests before child's third year and is characterized by difficulties in social
communication and social interaction, limited activities, interests and stereotypes.
Every child with autism is unique and individual children show exceptional abilities
in a certain area (music, mathematics, art...), but when diagnosing usually all
charachteristis are included to define the disorder. Over the past few years there has
been a significant increase in the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders and research
shows that it is 1:100.
If a child with autism spectrum disorder is provided with a consistent,
comprehensive and intensive intervention early enough, which includes the
application of therapeutic programs in the form of individual work with the child, it is
possible to achieve a sufficient level of independence in communication and social
competence. Some of these therapeutic programs are described in this paper:
FloorTime, Son-Rise, and ABA.
Such programs help children with autism to increase their quality of life,
achieve better integration in school and further formal education. In all this, the
professional work and the involvement of parents, educators, teachers and therapists
is important and necessary. The described programs help both children with autism
spectrum disorder and their families.
