Abstract

Cilj istraživanja ovog završnog rada bio je utvrditi pruža li odgojitelj i na koji način dovoljno
podrške kronično oboljelom djetetu, kako bi se lakše nosilo s bolešću u svakodnevnom životu.
Na početku postavljena je hipoteza koja glasi:
1.Odgojitelj pruža dovoljno podrške djeci oboljeloj od kroničnih bolesti
Kako bi potvrdili hipotezu, izraĎen je anketni upitnik za roditelje djece oboljelih od kroničnih
bolesti (astma, šećerna bolest, celijakija i epilepsija).
U anketi je sudjelovalo 48 roditelja kronično oboljele djece koja pohaĎaju predškolsku
ustanovu. Anketa je provedena online , preko grupa na društvenim mrežama. Anketa se
sastojala od 10 pitanja otvorenog i zatvorenog tipa. Anketa je bila anonimna. Rezultati ankete
pokazali su kako odgojitelji pružaju dovoljno podrške djetetu i roditeljima u suočavanju s
kroničnim bolestima. Roditelji su takoĎer navodili na koji način pružaju podršku. Većina
odgovora bila je otvorenom komunikacijom, suradnjom punom razumijevanja, ohrabrenjem.
Isto tako utvrĎeno je kako roditelji smatraju da odgojitelji trebaju posvetiti veću pažnju djeci
oboljeloj od kronične bolesti, te ići na dodatne edukacije vezane uz kronične bolesti.
Nedostatak ove ankete je mali uzorak ispitanika.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this study was to determine whether, and in what manner, an education and care
professional provides sufficient support to a chronically ill child in order for that child to cope
more easily with their condition in everyday life.
At the beginning of the study the following hypothesis formulated:
1. An education and care professional supports sufficiently a chronically ill child.
In order to confirm the hypothesis, a questionnaire for parents of chronically ill children
(diseases in questions are asthma, epilepsy, celiac disease and diabetes) was created.
The participants of this study were 48 parents of chronically ill children that attend a preschool establishment. The study was carried out online by using social media groups. The
questionnaire consisted of 10 open- and closed-ended questions and the answers to these
questions were given anonymously. The results showed that education and care professionals
do provide enough support to both the child and parents while confronting a certain chronic
disease. Parents also stated in what manner that support is provided - the majority of answers
specified that they receive support through open communication, collaboration rich with
understanding and encouragement. The study also showed that parents believe education and
care professionals should pay greater attention to chronically ill children. Moreover, subjects
expressed their wish for the professionals to be further educated in this field. A certain flaw of
this study is the above-mentioned small sample of participants. This paper also describes the
following diseases in early childhood: asthma, epilepsy, celiac disease and diabetes.
