Abstract

Ekološki izazov ljudske civilizacije u sadašnjoj fazi njenog razvoja na Zemlji je rezultat spoznaje da su tehnološke mogućnosti čovječanstva postale usporedive s negativnim globalnim procesima u okolišu. Danas, više nego ikada, potrebna je odgovarajuća međunarodna održiva strategija za simultani razvoj ljudskog društva i očuvanje prirodnog okoliša na planeti. Osjetljivost djece omogućuje razvoj i formiranje odgovarajućih stavova i vještina koji su temelj za primjenu u odrasloj dobi. Izravni i što učestaliji djetetov kontakt s prirodom predstavlja za njega enorman kognitivni potencijal, pobuđuje interes uz stvaranje prije svega emocionalna veze s prirodom, te u konačnici postizanja intelektualnog zadovoljstva. Očigledno je da razvoj djeteta u dodiru s prirodom rezultira stvaranjem vrijednosti koje se ne mogu oblikovati na bilo koji drugi način.

Abstract (english)

The ecological challenge of human civilization at the current stage of its development on Earth is the result of the realization that the technological capabilities of humanity have become comparable to the negative global processes in the environment. Today, more than ever, an appropriate international sustainable strategy is needed for the simultaneous development of human society and the preservation of the natural environment on the planet. The sensitivity of children enables the development and formation of appropriate attitudes and skills that are the basis for application in adulthood. Direct and as frequent as possible contact of child with nature represents an enormous cognitive potential for him, arouses interest by creating primarily an emotional connection with nature, and ultimately achieving intellectual satisfaction. It is obvious that a child’s development in contact with nature results in the creation of values that cannot be shaped in any other way.
