Abstract Opće je poznato da svladavanje matematičkog nastavnog sadržaja učenicima često zadaje teškoće, zbog toga je potrebno pronaći i koristiti drugačije načine i pristupe poučavanja, a jedan od njih jest upravo dramskopedagoški pristup. Suvremene dramske nastavne metode u potpunosti odgovaraju zahtjevima i načelima suvremene metodike nastave matematike, što ih čini vrhunskim izborom prilikom odabiranja nastavne metode nastave matematike. Ovaj rad sadrži teorijski prikaz kojim se objašnjavaju važni pojmovi vezani uz dramski odgoj, dramsku metodu procesne drame i uz metodiku nastave matematike.
Abstract (english) It is well-known that mastering mathematics often poses difficulties for students, which is why it is necessary to find and use different methods and approaches to teaching. One of these is the drama-based approach. There are very few scientific papers that highlight the impact of drama methods and techniques in mathematics teaching. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to contribute to the contemporary scientific discourse by investigating the impact of the process drama method on students' motivation, as well as their overall satisfaction and attitude towards mathematics. This paper also seeks to determine whether students have a preference between a fantastic and a realistic dramatic world when implementing the process drama teaching method, in order to better motivate them to participate in mathematics classes. Modern drama teaching methods fully meet the requirements and principles of contemporary mathematics teaching methodology, making them an excellent choice when selecting a teaching method for mathematics. This paper includes a theoretical overview that explains important concepts related to drama education, the process drama method, and the modern methodology of mathematics teaching. The paper presents qualitative research conducted on a focus group of five students, aiming to answer three research questions. Does the process drama method affect students' motivation to attend mathematics classes, as well as their overall attitude towards the subject? And do students have a preference between a realistic and a fantastic dramatic world? First, two lessons were conducted implementing the process drama method and two completely different dramatic scenarios set in different dramatic worlds. After the lessons, an interview was conducted with the focus group of students, followed by a detailed qualitative data analysis. The results indicate a positive effect of process drama on students' motivation, as well as on their overall attitude towards the subject. Students did not show a preference between different types of dramatic worlds, but there was a significant impact of the dramatic scenario on their satisfaction with the process drama method.
