Abstract

Cilj ovog rada je ukazati na važnost učenja matematike već u predškolskoj dobi. Djeca se već od najranije dobi susreću s matematičkim pojmovima, stoga će se najprije govoriti o tome kako se kod beba već razvijaju matematički pojmovi. Zatim će se govoriti o utjecaju određenih elemenata na razvoj matematičkih vještina, odnosno koji su to senzorni i perceptivni činitelji, kognitivni činitelji i emocionalno-motivacijski činitelji, kako Piaget smatra da se dijete razvija te koje su kritike njegove teorije razvoja djeteta. Matematika pomaže djeci da shvate svijet u kojem žive. Učeći matematiku već u vrtiću djeca naknadno lakše shvaćaju matematičke pojmove u školi. U ovom radu govorit e se o devet predmatematičkih vještina kojim bi dijete predškolske dobi trebalo ovladati, na koji način roditelji ili odgojitelji mogu poticati kod djeteta razvoj predmatematičkih vještina te kako bi trebao izgledati centar za matematiku i manipulativne igre u vrtiću. Spomenut će se temeljni razlozi važnosti učenja matematike te vrste igara koje djeci na zanimljiv i zabavan način objašnjavaju brojenje, geometrijske oblike, brojke, uspoređivanje, razvrstavanje i svrstavanje. Matematika djecu uči kako rješavati probleme, kako donositi odluke te kroz učenje matematike djeca razvijaju svoje kritičko mišljenje, a to je nešto što će im biti potrebno tijekom cijelog života.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this work is to point out the importance of learning mathematics already in preschool age. Children encounter mathematical concepts from an early age, so first we will talk about how babies already develop mathematical concepts. Then it will be discussed what affects the development of mathematical skills. What are the sensory and perceptive factors, cognitive factors and emotional-motivational factors. How Piaget believes that a child develops and how his theory of child development is critiqued. Mathematics helps children to understand the world in which they live. By learning mathematics already in kindergarten, children understand mathematical concepts more easily at school. This paper will talk about nine pre-mathematical skills that a preschool child should master, how parents or educators can encourage the development of premathematical skills in a child, and what a center for mathematics and manipulative games in a kindergarten should look like. The fundamental reasons for the importance of learning mathematics and the types of games that explain counting, geometrical shapes, numbers, comparing, sorting and classification to children in an interesting and fun way will be mentioned. Mathematics teaches children how to solve problems, how to make decisions, and through learning mathematics, children develop their critical thinking, which is something they will need throughout their lives.
