Abstract

Predrasude su pojava koje društvo ne može izbjeći. No one se mogu itekako ublažiti. U ovom radu govori se prije svega o spolnim predrasudama te koji su uzroci njihova nastanka. Ti uzroci mogu biti razni – od društvenih, kognitivnih, socijalnih, obiteljskih do evolucijskih. Također se govori i o razlici između predrasuda i stereotipa te rodnih stereotipa. Svrha ovog rada je na temelju literature približiti shvaćanje spolnih predrasuda u dječjoj dobi, odnosno predškolskoj dobi. One su vidljive u svakodnevnim situacijama, kako u obitelji tako i u predškolskoj ustanovi. Tek kada se predrasude pobliže shvate, može se raditi na pokušaju njihova uklanjanja, odnosno smanjivanja. Ako se o predrasudama ne govori, može doći do netolerancije prema žrtvama predrasuda što zatim može dovesti i do diskriminacije. Seksizam je također problem koji djeca već od rane dobi mogu osjetiti, osobito djevojčice. Moderne predrasude omogućavaju takvoj diskriminaciji koja se temelji na spolu da prođe neopaženo. Bez komunikacije ne može doći do predrasuda jer specifične karakteristike same predrasude djeca moraju čuti od nekoga te ih tako usvojiti. No komunikacijom se te predrasude mogu i iskorijeniti. Što ranije dijete počne shvaćati predrasude, to će biti veća vjerojatnost da ih ono samo nema. Promicanje uvažavajućeg komuniciranja, razumijevanja i prihvaćanja različitosti treba biti temelj svake odgojno-obrazovne ustanove.

Abstract (english)

Prejudices are a phenomena that society can not avoid. However, they can be reduced. This paper analyses sexual prejudices and the causes of their emergence. The causes of prejudices can be different – from social, cognitive, family to evolutionary. There is also a difference between prejudices and stereotypes and gender stereotypes. The purpose of this paper is the understanding of gender prejudices in childhood and preschool age. They are visible in everyday situations, family home and in the preschool institution. Only when prejudices are more closely understood, one can work to try and remove them. If the problem of prejudice is ignored, intolerance may arise against victims of prejudice which can then lead to discrimination. Sexism is also a problem that children may feel at an early age, especially girls. Modern prejudices allow such gender-based discrimination to pass unnoticed. Without communication there can be no prejudices because the specific characteristics of prejudices themselves have to be heard from someone for children to adopt them. By communication, these prejudices can also be removed. The earlier the child begins to perceive prejudices, the greater are the chances that they will not have them. Promoting respectful communication, understanding and acceptance of diversity should be the foundation of each educational institution.
