Abstract

Cilj ovog rada jest dokazati kako Salvador Dali doista je genije i najveći nadrealist kroz njegov život i djela. Usporedimo li ostale nadrealiste i Salvadora Dalija možemo vidjeti mnoge razlike, što u razmišljanjima, što u djelima. Dali je vodio interesantan život. Ulazio je u konflikte s kolegama i obitelji, doticao se tabu tema u svojim djelima, zaljubio se i posvetio svoj život umjetnosti. U nadrealizam je uveo mnoge nove motive i načine stvaranja. Njegova paranoično-kritička metoda i fotorealizam omogućili su mu utjelovljenje iracionalne stvarnosti i uvele nas u san te nam istovremeno otvarale oči. U svojim djelima često je prikazivao katalonsku obalu, uživanje u hrani ili svoju opsesiju ženskim bokovima. Njegovi dalijevski motivi poput skakavaca, mrava, izmeta ili lavljih glava ponavljaju se iz djela u djelo i postali su način prepoznavanja njegovih radova. Glavna osoba u njegovome životu bila je njegova žena Gala, njegova muza. Gala je postala centar njegovog života i izvor motivacije za mnoga poznata djela. Podržavala ga je u svakom koraku koji je on odlučio napraviti. No, posebnost Dalijevih djela nije u samoj izradi djela ili ishodu na listu papira, već je posebnost njegovih djela u priči koja stoji iza njih. Dali je svoja djela pomno planirao što se sukobilo sa glavnim obilježjem nadrealizma. Ipak, u zaključku možemo reći kako Dali doista jest nadrealizam, a zbog načina na koji je došao do toga nije lagao kada se prozvao genijem.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this paper is to prove that Salvador Dali is genuinely the greatest surrealist during his life and work. If we compare other Surrealists and Salvador Dali, we can see a lot of differences, what in thoughts, what in work of arts. Dali has led an interesting life. He entered into conflicts with his colleagues and family, ran the subject taboo in his works, fell in love and dedicated his life to art. In Surrealism he has introduced many new motives and ways of creation. His paranoid-critical method and photo-realism enabled him to incorporate irrational realities and put us in a dream as it simultaneously opened our eyes. In his works he often portrayed the Catalan coast, enjoying food or his obsession with feminine hips. His dali motifs, such as grasshoppers, ants, faeces, or lion's head repeat from work to work and become a way of recognizing his works. The main person in his life was his wife Gala, his muse. Gala has become the center of his life and a source of motivation for many famous works. She supported her husband in every step he decided to make. But the specialty of Dali's works is not the work itself or the ultimate outcome on the paper, but the specialty of his works is in the story behind them. Dali has carefully planned his works what conflicted with the main feature of surrealism . However, in conclusion for this very reason we can say that Dali was indeed surrealism, and because of the way he came to it he did not lie when he called himself a genius.
