Abstract

Cilj ovog rada bio je predstaviti najistaknutije turističke atrakcije u Londonu. Autor ovog rada pregledao je pet relevantnih knjiga, mnoge članke i web stranice kako bi prikazao temu na najbolji mogući način. Njegovo zanimanje za London potječe iz različitih izvora koji uključuju britansku kulturu i način življenja. Ovaj rad opisuje najprepoznatljivije muzeje, galerije, znamenitosti kraljevske obitelji, sakralne objekte i ostale turističke atrakcije koje se mogu naći u Londonu. Te turističke atrakcije su prikazane kroz deset gradskih područja, od kojih svako ima jedinstvene karakteristike. Ta područja uključuju: (1) The West End, (2) The City, (3) The South Bank, (4) Kensington i Hyde Park, (5) Clerkenwell, Shoreditch i Spitalfields, (6) The East End i Docklands, (7) Hampstead & North London, (8) Notting Hill i West London, (9) Greenwich i South London, (10) Richmond, Kew i Hampton Court. Autor se nada da je prikazao London i njegove turističke atrakcije na najreprezentativniji način.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this thesis was to present the most prominent tourist attractions in London. The author reviewed five relevant literature sources and numerous articles and web sites. His interest in London and its tourist attractions stems from various sources concerning British culture and way of living. This thesis describes the most recognizable museums, galleries, royal sights, sacral objects and other tourist attractions that can be found in London. Those tourist attractions are portrayed through ten neighbourhoods, from which all have their unique flavour. These neighbourhoods include: (1) The West End, (2) The City, (3) The South Bank, (4) Kensington & Hyde Park, (5) Clerkenwell, Shoreditch & Spitalfields, (6) The East End & Docklands, (7) Hampstead & North London, (8) Notting Hill & West London, (9) Greenwich & South London, (10) Richmond, Kew & Hampton Court. The author hopes that this thesis has shown London and its tourist attractions in the most representative way.
