Abstract

Mediji su kao sredstvo komunikacije te izvor informacija sveprisutni i duboko ukorijenjeni u sve aspekte svakodnevice ljudi današnjega društva. Mediji informiraju, odgajaju i obrazuju te zabavljaju ljude svih dobnih skupina, a jednako tako u to su uključena i djeca predškolske dobi. Postoje dvije vrste medija: tiskani i digitalni. Djeca mnogo više vremena provode koristeći digitalne medije poput televizije i računala nego čitajući slikovnice. Djetinjstvo 21. stoljeća osobito je obilježeno videoigrama. Činjenica je da sadržaji koji se prikazuju putem medija imaju utjecaj na emocije, percepciju, stavove i uvjerenja pa sukladno tome i na ponašanje djece i odraslih. Stoga je važno osvijestiti pozitivne i negativne utjecaje medija te ispravnim odabirom i ograničavanjem vremena korištenja različitih sadržaja pokušati što je više moguće umanjiti nepovoljne te iskoristiti povoljne učinke koje predškolskoj djeci svakodnevno donose mediji.

Abstract (english)

The media, as a mean of communication and a source of information are omnipresent and deeply rooted in all aspects of the everyday life of individuals in today's society. The media informs, educates and entertains individuals of all ages. It needs to be stressed out that the preschool children are also involved. There are two types of media: print and digital. Children spend much more time using digital media such as television and computers than reading picture books. The childhood of the 21st Century is especially marked by video games. As a matter of the fact, the content presented through the media has an impact on emotions, perceptions, attitudes and beliefs, respectively on the behavior of children and adults. Therefore, it is important to raise awareness of the positive and negative impacts of the media and to try to minimize the disadvantages and use the beneficial effects that the preschool children obtain through the media on a daily basis. This can be achieved by proper preselection of the media available to the preschool children and the limitation of the daily time spent using different media sources.
