Abstract

Nasilje među djecom svakim je danom sve učestalija pojava. Ono je opisano kao opetovana i trajna izloženost negativnim postupcima od strane jednog ili više učenika. (Olwues, 1998) Iako na spomen nasilja većina pomisli na tjelesno nasilje, treba naglasiti kako nasilje također čine verbalno (zadirkivanje, ogovaranje, zbijanje neugodnih šala) i seksualno uznemiravanje. Nasilje ostavlja velike i dugotrajne posljedice na žrtvu te mogu biti psihosocijalne, fizičke i emocionalne. Mogu ozbiljno ugroziti kvalitetu života žrtve, čak i nakon što ona odraste. Iz tog razloga vrlo je važno pravovremeno i pravilno reagiranje škole i njezinih zaposlenika. U školama u Hrvatskoj pokrenuto je mnogo programa za prevenciju nasilja među djecom. Važno je da učitelji i stručni suradnici pravovremeno uoče problem te da znaju pravilno reagirati. Također, škola i roditelji trebaju surađivati jer jedino suradnjom mogu stvoriti sigurnu okolinu za djecu. Važno je da se u školi kao i u roditeljskom domu djeci ukazuje na problem nasilja te kako ga spriječiti. Cilj ovog rada je upozoriti na problem nasilja među djecom te istaknuti važnost preventivnog djelovanja na svim razinama – obiteljskoj, školskoj te na razini uže i šire zajednice.

Abstract (english)

Violence among children is becoming more frequent every day. It is described as repeated and persistent exposure to negative actions by one or more students. (Olwues, 1998) Although most people think of physical violence at the mention of violence, it should be emphasized that violence also includes verbal (teasing, gossiping, making embarrassing jokes) and sexual harassment. Violence leaves great and lasting consequences on the victim and can be psychosocial, physical and emotional. They can seriously jeopardize a victim’s quality of life, even after she grows up. For this reason, it is very important that the school and its employees respond in a timely and proper manner. Many programs for the prevention of violence among children have been launched in schools in Croatia. It is important that teachers and professional associates notice the problem in a timely manner and that they know how to react properly. Also, the school and parents need to work together because only by working together can they create a safe environment for children. It is important that children are shown the problem of violence and how to prevent it in school as well as in the parental home. The aim of this paper is to draw attention to the problem of violence among children and emphasize the importance of preventive action at all levels - family, school and at the level of the immediate and wider community
