Abstract

Cilj ovoga istraživanja bio je utvrditi povezanost između kvalitete školskog života i dobrobiti učenika. Istraživanje je provedeno u dvije osnovne škole u Zadru. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 153 učenika od četvrtog do osmog razreda, od toga 71 učenik iz privatne osnovne škole i 82 učenika iz državne. Primijenjeni su „Upitnik kvalitete školskog života – QSLQ (Quality of School Life Questionnaire)“, upitnik „Učenička skala zadovoljstva životom – SLSS (Students' Life Satisfaction Scale“ te jedno pitanje kojim se mjerio osjećaj sreće. Rezultati su pokazali da postoji negativna povezanost između negativnih osjećaja prema školi i zadovoljstva životom i sreće. Ostale dimenzije kvalitete školskog života su pozitivno povezane sa životnim zadovoljstvom i srećom dok jedino doživljaj učenja nije povezan sa životnim zadovoljstvom. Rezultati su također pokazali da djevojčice iskazuju više negativnih emocija prema školi nego dječaci, pri čemu su dječaci općenito zadovoljniji svojim životom i sretniji. Također, mlađi učenici zadovoljniji školom, kao i učenici privatne škole u odnosu na učenike državne škole.

Abstract (english)

The aim of the study was to assess the relationship between quality of school life and students' happiness and well-being. The research was conducted in two primary schools in Zadar. 153 students from 4th to 8th grade participated in the study,71 students from private and 82 from the public school. Questionnaires used for this research were “Quality of School Life Questionnaire (QSLQ)”, “Students’ Life Satisfaction Scale (SLSS)” and one question used to measure the level of happiness. The results of the research showed that there is a negative correlation between negative feelings towards school and life satisfaction and happiness. Other dimensions of school life quality were in positive correlation with life satisfaction and happiness. Only the experience of learning was not in the correlation with life satisfaction. Results also showed that girls hold more negative emotions towards school than boys, who are generally more satisfied with life and happier. Lastly, younger students are more satisfied with their school life, as well as the private school students in comparison to public school students.
