Abstract

Bit ovog istraživanja je prikazati trend povećanja pretilosti kod djece. Rad je podijeljen na pojašnjenje tjelesne aktivnosti, pretilosti i istraživanje. Istraživanje je provedeno na 66 učenika osnovne škole, u dobi od 7 do 11 godina. Cilj ovog istraživanja je prikazati stanje korpulentnosti djece u nižim razredima osnovne škole i to stanje usporediti s njihovom tjelesnom aktivnošću. Istraživanje je provedeno u dva dijela. Prvi dio se odnosio na mjerenje morfoloških karakteristika (visine i težine) kako bi se mogao utvrditi ITM pojedinog djeteta. Drugi dio istraživanja je bila anonimna anketa kojom se utvrđivala razina tjelesne aktivnosti. Na samom kraju se ITM (indeks tjelesne mase) uspoređivao s anketom te se dobio uvid u tjelesnu aktivnost pretile djece i djece s prekomjernom tjelesnom težinom. Rezultati su pokazali kako 59.1% ispitane djece ima normalnu tjelesnu težinu dok ih je 21.2% s prekomjernom tjelesnom težinom i 9.1% pretilo. Od ukupnog broja ispitane djece 83.3% ih pohađa neku vrstu izvannastavne/izvanškolske sportske aktivnosti. Od djece koja su pretila ili s prekomjernom tjelesnom težinom, čak njih 85% se bavi nekom vrstom izvannastavne/izvanškolske sportske aktivnosti. Rezultati su pokazali kako nedostatak tjelesne aktivnosti nije najvažniji faktor u povećanju dječje pretilosti, već da na postojeći trend utječu i razni drugi faktori.

Abstract (english)

The goal of this research is to show the trend of increasing obesity in children. The paper is divided into a subsection of physical activity, obesity, and research. The research was conducted on 66 elementary school students, aged 7 to 11 years. The intent of this research is to show the state of corpulence of children in the lower grades of primary school and to compare this state with their physical activity. The research was conducted in two parts. In the first part measurements were taken of morphological characteristics (height and weight) to determine the BMI of an individual child. The second part of the research was an anonymous survey to determine the level of physical activity. At the end, BMI (Body Mass Index) was compared with the survey and an insight was gained into the physical activity of obese and overweight children. The results showed that 59.1% of the surveyed children were of normal body weight while 21.2% of them were overweight and 9.1% were obese. Out of the total number of surveyed children, 83.3% take part in an extracurricular sports activity. Of obese or overweight children, as many as 85% take part in some form of extracurricular sports activity. The results showed that lack of physical activity is not the most important factor in increasing childhood obesity, but that the existing trend is influenced by various other factors.
