Abstract

Mozak je u fokusu istraživanja brojnih znanstvenika diljem svijeta. Specijalizacijom lijeve i desne hemisfere mozga dolazi i do preferencije dominantne ruke kod ljudi. Svega 11% svjetskog stanovništva je ljevoruko. Djeca u ranom djetinjstvu mogu koristiti obje ruke kao dominantne, međutim do šeste godine života većina djece počinje koristiti jednu kao dominantnu, a to obilježje će ih pratiti čitav život. Ljevorukost u ljudskoj populaciji postoji od prapovijesti, te se na nju kroz povijest gledalo na različite načine. Cilj ovog istraživanja je ustanoviti mogućnost utvrđivanja dominantne ruke kod šestogodišnjaka u odnosu na brzinu bočnog kretanja. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo sto trideset i dvoje djece, a samo istraživanje se provodilo u dječjem vrtiću. Rezultati ovog istraživanja pokazali su korelaciju između korištenja dominantne ruke i brzine bočnog kretanja, te shodno s time se i hipoteza- ,,Djeca s dominantnom rukom, koja može biti lijeva ili desna će se bolje kretati u tu stranu’’, potvrđuje.

Abstract (english)

The human brain is an important focus of research all around the world. With hemispheric specialization people tend to start using their left or right hand as dominant. Only 11% of the world's population is left-handed. Children tend to use both hands as dominant in early childhood, but when they reach the age of six, the majority will start using one as the dominant hand. Left handedness has existed in the world's population since the very beginning of human civilization, and it was not always a positive characteristic. The aim of this research is to try to determine handedness among six year old children, and if it is in correlation with speed of movement to the left/right side (motor skills). A total of 132 children participated in this study, and research was conducted in one preschool facility. Results of this research have shown us that there is a correlation between handedness and speed of movement in the dominant side.
