Abstract

Djeca se rađaju s temeljnim slobodama i pravima koja pripadaju ljudskim bićima, no s obzirom na nemogućnost djece da se „sama brane“, u današnjim se društvima nameće potreba isticanja prava djeteta. Ta prava osnovna su polazišta Konvencije o pravima djeteta, a osim toga, Konvencija ističe i mogućnost da se ta prava osiguraju svakom djetetu. Suvremene države tako imaju obvezu da se djetetu osiguraju adekvatni uvjeti za njegov cjelokupan razvitak u okruženju koje karakteriziraju sloboda, prihvaćanje, ljubav i razumijevanje. Svako dijete ima pravo na autonomiju i doživljaj vlastite vrijednosti. Prema tome, u radu je istaknuta neophodnost odgoja i obrazovanja za dječja prava. Jedinstvenu ulogu u promicanju shvaćanja djeteta kao individualnog bića ima Konvencija UN-a o pravima djeteta koja je donesena 1989. Ona se zalaže za to da su sva djeca jednaka, da svako dijete ima pravo na ljubav i njegu, da dijete ima pravo družiti se s kim hoće, da ima pravo na zdravstvenu zaštitu, na izražavanje svog mišljenja, pravo na pohađanje škole, pravo na slobodnu igru, pravo na informaciju te pravo birati religiju. Dijete ni u kojem slučaju ne smije biti primorano na rad, ne smije biti zlostavljano, ni tjelesno ni psihički, ne smije biti žrtva nasilja. Nažalost, ni u današnje vrijeme ne poštuju se djetetova individualnost i njegova prava te je vrlo aktualna tema kršenje dječjih prava.

Abstract (english)

Children are born with fundamental freedoms and rights that belong to human beings, but given the inability of children to "defend themselves", in today's societies there is a need to emphasize the rights of the child. These rights are the basic starting points of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and in addition, the Convention emphasizes the possibility of ensuring these rights for every child. Modern states thus have an obligation to provide the child with adequate conditions for his or her overall development in an environment characterized by freedom, acceptance, love, and understanding. Every child has the right to autonomy and to experience their own values. Therefore, the paper emphasizes the need for education for children's rights. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted in 1989, has a unique role to play in promoting the understanding of the child as an individual being. It advocates that all children be equal, that every child have the right to love and care, whoever he wants, has the right to health care, to express his opinion, the right to attend school, the right to free play, the right to information and the right to choose a religion. Under no circumstances should a child be forced to work, abused, physically or mentally, or be a victim of violence. Unfortunately, even today, the child's individuality and rights are not respected, and the very current topic is the violation of children's rights.
