Abstract

Strah je prisutan kod svih ljudi tijekom cijelog života i sasvim je normalna njegova pojava. U ovom radu usredotočenost će biti na strahovima kod djece rane i predškolske dobi te djece školske dobi. Strah je obrambena reakcija na određenu opasnost te pripada temeljnim emocijama. Kada strah ne bi postojao, vrlo brzo i lako bi se upuštali u opasnost koja bi se našla pred nama. Djeca rano počinju osjećati strah, već od sedmog mjeseca života, kada počinju izražavati strah od nepoznatih ljudi. Nakon tog straha pojavljuju se ostali strahovi koji se mijenjaju s obzirom na dob djeteta. Važnu ulogu u svladavanju strahova kod djece imaju odrasli – roditelji, odgojitelji, učitelji. Kod najmlađe djece, kao što su novorođenčad i djeca prije polaska u odgojnoobrazovnu ustanovu, roditelji će biti prvi koji mogu prepoznati djetetov strah. Roditelji mogu na odgovarajući način pomoći svojem djetetu svladati određeni strah služeći se vlastitim instinktom i raznom literaturom koja sadrži brojne načine kako pomoći djeci kada se boje. Djeca koja borave u odgojno-obrazovnoj skupini, mogu otkriti svoje strahove odgojiteljima koji će im pomoći svladati strah. S obzirom na to da se u skupini u kojoj boravi, nalaze ostala djeca, dijete se možda neće moći povjeriti odgojitelju. Odgojitelji toga moraju biti svjesni i trebaju pronaći način putem kojeg će se dijete lakše povjeriti. U radu će se osim definicija, vrsta, karakteristika i načina svladavanja straha, spomenuti i znakovi putem kojih se može prepoznati strah kod djece. Cilj ovog rada je iznijeti temeljne činjenice o strahu, spoznati koje se sve vrste straha pojavljuju kod djece te kako pomoći djeci svladati strahove.

Abstract (english)

Fear is present in all people throughout life and its occurrence is quite normal. In this paper, the focus will be on fears in early and preschool children and school-age children. Fear is a defensive reaction to a certain danger and belongs to the basic emotions. When fear would not exist, we would very quickly and easily engage in the dangerous situations. Children begin to feel fear early, as early as the seventh month when they start to express fear of strangers. After this fear, other fears appear during different developmental phases. Adults play an important role in overcoming children fears (parents, educators, teachers). For the youngest children, such as newborns and pre-school children, parents will be the first to recognize their fear. Parents can help their child overcome a certain fear in an apropriate way by using their own instinct and various literature referring ways to help children when they are afraid. Children attending preschool institutions can reveal their fears to educators who will help them overcome fear. Since the preschool class includes other children, the child may not be able to confide to the educator. Educators need to be aware of this and need to find a way to make it easier for the child to share their fears with them. In addition to definitions, types and fear characteristics in children, this paper will also emphasize fear indicators and suggest ways of overcoming fear. The aims of this paper are to present the basic facts about fear, to present different kinds of children fears and intoduce various techniques of overcoming children fears.
