Abstract

Razvoj čitanja započinje već u djetetovoj najranijoj dobi te traje tijekom njegova odrastanja. Važno je da se aktivnost čitanja provodi u pozitivnom i toplom obiteljskom ozračju. Da bi dijete započelo čitati, roditelji mu moraju pružiti mnoga iskustva o svijetu uključujući ga u razgovore, provoditi raznovrsne igre koje potiču razvoj jezične kompetencije, napraviti poticajno okruženje za čitanje, pružiti primjer čitanja, čitati djeci kako bi ih motivirali da sami počnu čitati te im omogućiti pristup knjigama. U početku će djeca uživati u slikovnicama te će na taj način učiti i upijati jezik slikovnica i bitnih značajki priča. Dok dijete čita, ono koristi različite strategije koje mu omogućavaju da shvati što slikovnica prikazuje. Izuzetna važnost i značaj čitanja djeci u ranoj i predškolskoj dobi jest to što dijete prilikom svakodnevnog susretanja s knjigom ima želju da putem pojednostavljenih djelatnosti, kao što su čitanje priča s roditeljima te razgovor s njima o pročitanome tekstu, razvije razumijevanje slušanoga teksta koje će mu omogućiti razvoj ostalih jezičnih djelatnosti – govorenja, čitanja i pisanja te stvoriti naviku čitanja.

Abstract (english)

The development of reading begins at the earliest age of the child and lasts during his growing up. It is important that the reading activity is carried out in a positive and warm family atmosphere. In order for a child to start reading, parents must provide him/her with many world including the child into conversations, conduct a variety of games that encourage the development of language competence, create a stimulating reading environment, provide an example of reading, read to children to motivate them to start reading provide access to books. In the beginning, children will enjoy picture books and in this way they will learn and absorb the language of picture books and the essential features of the stories. As the child reads, he uses different strategies that allow him to understand what the picture book shows. The exceptional importance and significance of reading to children in early and preschool age is that the child, through daily encounter with books and through simplified tasks such as reading stories with parents and talking to them about the text read, has the desire to develop the comprehension of the text he/she is listening to, which will enable the development of other language activities- speaking, reading and writing, as well as creating the reading habit.
