Abstract

Stilovi roditeljstva, između ostalog, značajno utječu i na socijalnu kompetenciju djeteta. Roditeljski odgojni stil može se definirati kao ozračje u kojem roditelji odgajaju svoje dijete. Prema znanstvenoj literaturi četiri su roditeljska odgojna stila: autoritativni stil odgoja, permisivni stil odgoja, atoritarni stil odgoja i zanemarujući stil odgoja. Autoritativno roditeljstvo kod djece promiče pozitivne socijalne vještine. Autoritarno roditeljstvo se najčešće veže s nižom socijalnom kompetencijom djece. Permisivni stil roditeljstva daje mješovite rezultate, a zanemarujući stil roditeljstva ima negativne učinke na dobrobit djece. Za roditelje je izrazito važno da budu svjesni svojeg roditeljskog odgojnog stila i njegovog utjecaja na rast i razvoj djeteta. U obiteljskom okruženju dijete stječe brojna znanja i vještine. Roditeljsko vodstvo i primjer uvelike utječu na djetetovo stjecanje socijalne kompetencije. Cilj ovog rada je ukazati na važnost poticanja i razvoja dječje socijalne kompetencije te opisati ulogu roditeljskih odgojnih stilova u njezinom razvoju.

Abstract (english)

Parenting styles, among other things, significantly affect a child's social competence. Parenting style can be defined as the atmosphere in which parents raise their child. According to scientific literature, there are four parenting styles: authoritative parenting style, permissive parenting style, authoritarian parenting style, and neglectful parenting style. Authoritative parenting promotes positive social skills in children. Authoritarian parenting is most often associated with lower social competence of children. A permissive parenting style produces mixed results, and a neglectful parenting style has negative effects on children's well-being. It is extremely important for parents to be aware of their parenting style and its influence on the growth and development of the child. In a family environment, a child acquires numerous knowledge and skills. Parental guidance and example greatly influence a child's acquisition of social competence. The aim of this paper is to point out the importance of encouraging and developing children's social competence and to describe the role of parenting styles in its development.
