Abstract (english) The aim of this study was to compare and determine whether there is a statistically significant difference in the level of development of specific individual motor skills of children who take taekwondo classes and those who do not or who do other sports. The hypothesis of the research predicts that a statistically significant difference exists when it comes to the development of specific individual motor skills of children who take taekwondo classes in regards to children who do not do sports, as well as those who do other sports. Furthermore, the assumption is that children who take taekwondo classes have more developed specific motor skills. The other aims of this study was to compare the level of development of specific individual motor skills of children who do any kind of sport and those who do not train anything; and also compare the level of development of motor skills of girls and boys. The study was conducted on 54 participants ranging from 7 to 9 years old, i.e. students in second and third grade of primary school. Out of the total number of participants, 27 of them do not do sports or do sports other than taekwondo and 27 participants take taekwondo classes. This study researched motor skills whose development is particularly emphasized during taekwondo training, namely coordination, explosive strength, speed and flexibility. Moreover, the participants anthropometric characteristics were recorded, i.e. their height and weight. The results of the study show that a statistically significant difference between these two groups of participants exists only when it comes to the development of flexibility. Therefore, the research hypothesis has been partially confirmed. Other results shows that the children who do any kind of sport have significant better results in explosive strength, coordination and flexibility tests. Also, boys are significant better in explosion strength than girls, but girls shows significant better results in flexibility than boys.
