Abstract
Alica u Zemlji Čudesa Lewisa Carrolla jedna je od prvih fantastičnih priča za djecu. Ova priča ispričana u dvanaest poglavlja prepuna je fantastičnih događaja, likova, ali i Carrollovih šala, igri riječi, parodija i nonsensa. Upravo to ovu knjigu čini jednom od izazovnijih za prevoditelje. U ovome radu bit će razloženi i objašnjeni motivi škole koje je Carroll uvrstio u svoje djelo te će se analizirati kako su oni prevedeni u šest hrvatskih izdanja. Na taj način bit će vidljivo koja su rješenja hrvatski prevoditelji pronašli za Carrollove izraze, šale, parodije i dr.
Abstract (english)
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll is one of the first fantasy novels written for children. The story, told through twelve chapters has a number of fantastic elements including fantastic characters and events. The story contains many Carroll's own jokes, wordplays, parodies and nonsense which make the book very challenging for the translators. In this paper, the topic of school will be analysed trough the original text written in English and then analysed trough six different Croatian translations. In this way, we will find out how Croatian translators managed to translate certain words, wordplays, parodies etc.
