Abstract

Stres je neizbježan pojam kao i pojava ljudskog života, čest kod odraslih ljudi koji pod djelovanjem stresa rade nepodobne stvari odnosno reagiraju na stres neprimjereno. Nažalost, stres se pojavljuje i kod djece od najranije predškolske dobi i to baš kroz uključivanje u socijalizaciju i institucionalizaciju djece te posljedično odvajanje od roditelja i obitelji. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je saznati kakav pristup razvoju otpornosti kod djece predškolske dobi imaju odgajateljice koje su pohađale edukaciju za primjenu Kurikula otpornosti za predškolsku i osnovnoškolsku dob (RESCUR) u usporedbi s odgojiteljicama koje nisu pohađale edukaciju. U teorijskom dijelu rada govori se o stresu, kako ga definiramo, teorije koje ga prate te razni modeli suočavanja s njim. Također, posebna se pažnja usmjerava na načine suočavanja sa stresom kod djece i adolescenata. Otpornosti kod djece, kao i samoj otpornosti kao važnog čimbenika u pomoći suočavanja sa stresom pristupa se razmatrajući dva vrlo važna područja djetetovog života, obitelji i boravaku u odgojno-obrazovnoj ustanovi. Otpornost djeca usvajaju kroz socijalni kontakt te je bitno poticati, pratiti i prepoznati važnost usvajanja socijalnih vještina. Naglašava se i važnost usvajanja u svakodnevni rad Kurikula otpornosti za predškolsku i osnovnoškolsku dob (RESCUR) jer to rezultira otpornim i sretnim djetetom ali i otpornijim odgajateljem koji je motiviraniji i uspješniji u svom poslu. Provedeno je kvalitativno istraživanje metodom polustrukturiranog intervju. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 20 odgojiteljica (7 odgojiteljica koje su bile uključene u edukaciju i 13 koje nisu bile uključene u edukaciju). Dobiveni rezultati ukazuju da podjednaku pažnju i akciju u odnosu na razvoj otpornosti kod djece, provode i odgojiteljice koje su pohađale edukaciju RESCUR i one koje navedenu edukaciju nisu pohađale. Sve odgojiteljice veliku pažnju i važnost posvećuju razvoju otpornosti kod djece, samostalno, ali i u suradnji s obitelji i stručnim timovima te svakodnevno provode različite aktivnosti i radionice koje su eksplicitno ili implicitno usmjerene na temu otpornosti.

Abstract (english)

Stress is a condition that cannot be avoided or controlled. It is a feeling of emotional or physical tension in human life very common in adults. It can come from any event of thoughts that makes you feel frustrated or react inadequately. Unfortunately, stress can be present in early childhood. Some of the early signs of stress in childhood can be noticed in different ways like involvement in social activities or skills, anxiety, separation from parents and families, among others. The purpose of this study was to find out what is the early education approach towards the development of the resilience in preschool children’s comparing the views of the early education teachers who attended the resilience curriculum for preschool and primary school age educators (RESCUR) and compare them to educators who did not attend the curriculum. The introductory part of the paper discusses stress, as we define it, the theoretical and ways of coping with stress, especially in children and adolescents. Resilience in children, as well as resilience itself as an important factor in helping to cope with stress, is approached by considering two very important influences for child development, family and educational institution. Resilience is developed by children through social contact, and it is important to encourage, monitor and recognize the importance of acquiring social skills. The importance of implementing programs for resilience development like the Resilience Curriculum for Preschool and Primary School (RESCUR) is emphasized because it results in a resilient and happy child but also a more resilient educator who is more motivated and successful in his work. In this research 20 early childhood educators were interviewed about their approach to development of resilience in children. The interviews were semi-structured. There were two groups of teachers – seven of them completed RESCUR education while 13 did not complete additional education for development of resilience in their work with children. The results indicate that pay great attention to the development of resilience in children and have important role that can be accomplished in cooperation with children’s’ families and other professionals in early education institution. All teachers on a daily basis organize various activities and workshops that are either directly or implicitly focused on the development of resilience in children.
