Abstract

Ovaj rad na početku prikazuje povijest i razvoj terapije i aktivnosti pomoću konja, objašnjava teorijsku podlogu terapije pomoću konja, navodi osnovne uvjete koji su nužni za provedbu terapije u smislu materijalnih uvjeta i tima koji sudjeluje u terapiji, prikazuje tko je potencijalan kandidat za terapiju pomoću konja, metode i postupke koji se koriste tijekom terapije pomoću konja te koji su ciljevi terapije. Na kraju rada su navedeni ishodi terapije pomoću konja i njeno trenutno stanje u Republici Hrvatskoj. Cilj rada je prikaz mogućnosti i trenutno stanje terapije i aktivnosti pomoću konja u Republici Hrvatskoj. Proučavaju se dosadašnji stručni i znanstveni radovi koji govore o brojnim pozitivnim ishodima terapije i aktivnosti pomoću konja.
Terapija i aktivnosti pomoću konja je dokazana pozitivna metoda terapije osobama s teškoćama u razvoju koja se provodi duži niz godina, pritom pokazuje napredak čovjekovih sposobnosti i vještina te stabiliziranje općeg fizičkog i psihičkog zdravlja osobe. Aktivnosti i terapiju pomoću konja je najlakše definirati kao postupak terapije koja uključuje rad s konjem. Terapija pomoću konja kao rezultat ima unaprjeđenje emocionalnog, fizičkog, kognitivnog i socijalnog razvoja polaznika terapije. Osobe tijekom terapije razvijaju povezanost sa životinjom, voditeljem terapije i ostalim polaznicima terapije, što im pomaže u izgradnji socijalnih vještina, samopouzdanja, povjerenja te strpljenja.
S obzirom na trenutno stanje terapije i aktivnosti pomoću konja u Republici Hrvatskoj, može se primijetiti kako Republika Hrvatska ima prostora za napredak u smislu terapije jahanjem – trebalo bi otvoriti dodatne ustanove koje će provoditi terapiju pomoću konja, pravno regulirati njenu provedbu i omogućiti mnogobrojne edukacije za kvalifikaciju voditelja terapije.

Abstract (english)

This thesis presents the history and development of equine-assisted therapy and activities, explains the theoretical basis of equine-assisted therapy, lists the basic conditions necessary for the implementation of therapy, such as material conditions and the team participating in therapy, presents who is a potential candidate for equine-assisted therapy, methods and procedures used during equine-assisted therapy and the goals of therapy. Outcomes of equine-assisted therapy and its current case in the Republic of Croatia are listed at the end of this thesis. The goal of this thesis is to present current facilities offering equine-assisted therapy and activities in the Republic of Croatia. Previous professional and scientific works that present numerous positive outcomes of equine-assisted therapy and activities are studied.
Equine-assisted therapy and activities is a proven method with positive outcomes for people with developmental disabilities, which has been implemented for many years, while presenting the progress of human abilities and skills, and stabilization of the general persons physical and mental health. Equine-assisted therapy and activities can be easiest defined such as a therapy procedure that involves working with horses. As a result, equine-assisted therapy improves the emotional, physical, cognitive and social development of the therapy student. During therapy, people develop a connection with the horse, the therapy leader and other participants which helps them to improve social skills, self-confidence, trust and patience.
Considering the current case of equine-assisted therapy and activities in the Republic of Croatia, the conclusion is that the Republic of Croatia has room for improvement in riding therapy – there should be opened more facilities that will offer equine-assisted therapy and activities, legally regulate its implementation and enable educations for the qualification of therapy leaders and counselor.
