Abstract

Cilj je rada prikazati jednu metodu i jedan pristup, koji su odabrani zbog svoje primjerenosti i učinkovitosti, odnosno zato jer pomoću njih djeca rane i predškolske dobi postižu optimalne rezultate u učenju i usvajanju stranoga (engleskoga) jezika. Paralelno s tim opisane su faze razvoja govora kod djece, kao i važnost stvaranja poticajnog okruženja za učenje i kvalitetno usvajanje stranoga
jezika u institucionalnom kontekstu, odnosno dječjim vrtićima. Na temelju nekoliko znanstvenih članaka koji se bave upravo spomenutom temom, za prikaz u ovom radu odabrane su TPR (Total Physical Response) metoda, koja naglasak stavlja na razvoj
slušanja i usvajanja značenja kroz pokret i Komunikacijski pristup poučavanju (CLT, Communicative Language Teaching) engleskoga jezika, čiji je cilj postizanje tečnosti u govoru, primjereno jezično reagiranje u različitim situacijama te razvoj komunikacijskih kompetencija kod djece rane i predškolske dobi.

Abstract (english)

The aim of the thesis is to present one method and one approach, which have been selected for their appropriacy and effectiveness, that is because they may help children of early childhood and preschool age to achieve optimal results in learning and acquiring a foreign (English) language. In addition, the author describes speech development phases in children, and discusses the importance of creating a stimulating environment for foreign language learning and acquisition in an institutionalised context, i.e. in kindergartens. Based on the analysis of several scholarly articles that deal with this issue, the final selection included articles dealing with the TPR (Total Physical Response) method, which emphasizes the development of listening skills and acquiring word meaning through movement, and the CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) approach to English language learning and teaching, whose goal is to help children achieve fluency in speech, learn adequate responses in different situations and develop communication skills.
